I want to know what good you think comes out of MySpace.

Internet predators try to find kids

You (can) meet people who claim to be movie stars

You (can) have Internet scams get on your computer

You (can) get a "link to a cool game" when it's a virus

You (can) get stalked

You (can) be hunted down

I just want to know what good comes from MySpace

Personally, I don't like the dating aspect of MySpace. I think that is stupid. However, it is a place for friends. For instance, what if there is no one within your area that you can relate. All you have to do is sign up to MySpace, put stuff on your profile that you are interested in, and a few good friendships could start.

Most of the bad things that can happen on MySpace are a result of lack of information and ignorance. You shouldn't try to date people you dont know in person, no movie star talks back to you, internet scams only happen to fools, there are no viruses, you can report stalkers, and just don't give out enough information to be hunted down.

Overall, I've found my experience on MySpace be to nice and safe. I keep info about me to a minimum while still getting to talk to some nice people. You should try it out sometime

you do know that you can make your file not public and you can reject people that you don't want to be friends with on there.

While I know that a lot of bad can come from it, for myself it has been quite a blessing. I have located and been in touch with several friends from school whom I haven't seen in years... even some "long lost" family members. It's all in how you use it. I do admit, though, it is quite addictive! :-)

I guess to a lot of myspace users, random people commenting on how hot you look, inflating your internet ego, having a place to show off your pictures, and the obvious one to keep in touch. I don't use it because I know I have nothing to gain from it, but people need to fill a void and they choose myspace. Whatever floats their boats.
