Why are computers specified for their gaming, surfing, and music listening ability?

Computers are supposed to be used for running programs that do engineering and accounting megatasks.

It just seems ludicrous to advertise a computer that is 'great for games, MySpace, and mp3 music'. This is a serious WTF?

I bought my computer for it's superior Yahoo! Answers abilities.

Most people that buy a computer, do it for entertainment. It another place to go to spend time. The funner thing is pretty much ANY computer you buy can do MySpace and Mp3! Those really shouldn't be a selling point.

It's all marketing speak.
